RailRiders Named Sponsor of The Lanier Lap

I am excited to announce RailRiders is partnering with me on my latest project—The Lanier Lap. During it, I am planning on a first-ever non-stop 400-mile shoreline circumnavigation of Lake Sidney Lanier. The five day, non-stop paddling endeavor will a first-ever feat in order to set a speed record; paddling continuously for 125 hours, with little to no sleep.

Jared Zissu, point man from RailRiders, said, “RailRiders is proud to be partnering with Josh Forester. His background in extreme endurance sports and harsh environments makes him an ideal Team RailRiders athlete.  Josh is attempting to circumnavigate Lake Lanier by kayak non-stop.  Along the way, he will be testing and evaluating different styles from RailRiders and we are looking forward to some great imagery, testimonials, and a cool adventure story as well.”

When I conjured up The Lanier Lap project, I knew I was in over my head out of the gate--not just in paddling skills and gear, but in apparel.

When I conjured up The Lanier Lap project, I knew I was in over my head out of the gate--not just in paddling skills and gear, but in apparel. I sought out RailRiders because I have a history with their products. After watching teams consistently wearing their Mojave Sun Shirt during the Eco Challenge, I purchased one before heading to Robert Finlay's Desert Winds 5-Day Expedition Race in the Mojave desert, and while I got comments on how it looked aesthetically, it did not disappoint.

Ten years later, I still own and use the original, so I can personally attest to their clothing being “The Toughest Clothing on the Planet”.

Ten years later, I still own and use the original, so I can personally attest to their clothing being “The Toughest Clothing on the Planet”. While the newer model they sent me to evaluate looks substantially sharper, I'm excited to see how it and other pieces of theirs perform in the field. During The Lanier Lap, I’ll be sporting RailRiders Bone Flats Pants with the Sahara Sun Hoodie and at other times a pair of Badwater Shorts with Mojave Sun Shirt with an Adventure Cap for protection from the sun (or “The Death Star” as I like to call it).

RailRiders apparel are the Toughest Clothes on the Planet®, and have a long history of outfitting aspiring athletes and adventurers taking on projects like The Lanier Lap. Having been conceived at sea in the prestigious Edgartown-Round-the-Island yacht race, they were born at sea, but they're ready for everything.
